15 Startups Took Part in 2019 Social Enterprise Bootcamp Program

Fifteen Indonesian social entrepreneurs have passed the selection process and are ready to take part in the 2019 Social Enterprise (SE) Bootcamp program. The program was held by DBS Indonesia through the DBS Foundation with Instellar. 2019 SE Bootcamp is an acceleration program for young Indonesian entrepreneurs.

The program focuses on solving social problems through business innovation. This year SE Bootcamp not only accepts social entrepreneur registrants but also small and medium enterprises (SMEs) who want to give a social impact through their business. Participants need to submit proposals for this regard.

The proposals will later be selected by the DBS Foundation and Instellar. A business that has been running for two to five years can join the program as well. The 2019 SE Bootcamp program was well-received by SMEs and Indonesian social entrepreneurs.

As evidenced, 250 registrants want to join the program. “We see high enthusiasm for this program from the number of registrants. It shows that more and more businesses have a variety of innovations to address social issues,” Mona Monika, DBS Indonesia Head of Marketing Communications said.

Startups That Join the 2019 SE Bootcamp Program by DBS Indonesia

Tanijoy is one of the startups participating in the 2019 SE Bootcamp program. It is a startup company that aims to form an agricultural ecosystem and connect farmers through technology. Tanijoy uses technology, empowers local communities, increases farmers’ incomes, and collaborates with others to build a better agricultural sector.

There is also Wise Steps Travel. This is one of the pioneers of a sustainable and educative travel agency in Indonesia. Aiming to provide insight into the local culture, Wise Steps Travel offers a series of travel experiences that are rich in local culture for customers.

Customers can also find information and insights related to the local community. Pandawa Agri Indonesia is another startup that joined the program. PT Pandawa Agri Indonesia is a company engaged in the field of agrochemicals. The startup is based in Jakarta and Surabaya.

There is also Ecodoe, a social startup engaged in the e-Commerce sector. Ecodoe offers handmade souvenirs and gifts for companies as well as government clients. Ecodoe empowers local artisans to provide products that meet market needs. Ecodoe uses the shared-economic concept to provide the best souvenir products.

Circle is another startup that participated in the program. It is an entrepreneurial education platform based in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. It aims to reduce the gap between formal education gained from schools and the skills needed in the professional world.

Startups Participated in the Program Come from Various Fields

Sidina Sejahtera Abadi is another startup that took part in the 2019 SE Bootcamp program. The company is engaged in manufacturing environmentally friendly souvenirs in the form of bags for companies. Sidina collaborates with students from Ginaco Itaco’s Teaching and Learning Center in producing souvenirs of the highest quality and environmentally friendly.

Sidina aims to provide opportunities and work experience for students so that they become graduates with the skills needed by the real working life. There is Belimbing Island, a startup from Depok which is engaged in beauty products. It provides a variety of skincare products based on starfruit skin.

Belimbing Island aims to preserve the starfruit gods that become the characteristic of the Depok city. It cooperates with local farmers as the main supplier. Kitchen Studio also took part in the program. This startup is working with bamboo craftsmen in a small village in the foothills of Galunggung, Singaparna.

Lastly, there is Eatever, a halal daily food service provider platform. This startup offers its services for companies and individuals through the website. It realizes a halal catering service platform. Eatever also helps its partners to build a halal guarantee system. Thus, it can help the halal certification process.
