Technology startup from Indonesia, Kata.ai, developed a conversation service based on artificial intelligence (AI) as known as an integrated chatbot. The company is currently seeking funding to expand the business. Meanwhile, the integrated chatbot offered here is called the Integrated Conversational Platform.
The partners of Kata.ai can implement a conversation service with commands in the form of text or voice. More interestingly, they can connect the service directly to the WhatsApp application. Since the service is integrated, Kata.ai calls this product a one-stop solution.
“In Indonesia, there is no technology that provides the use of everyday expressions in Bahasa Indonesia naturally,” Co-founder and CEO of Kata.ai, Irzan Raditya, said in Jakarta recently. For this reason, Kata.ai developed an AI that allowed chatbots to understand the user’s language naturally.
This allows chatbots to understand everyday language, from slang to abbreviations. This technology was also developed by Google, particularly in the Google Search service. To make the most of this goal, the Integrated Conversational Platform solution is equipped with 10 brand-new features.
New Features Added to the Kata.ai’s Integrated Conversational Platform
The 10 new features added to the Integrated Conversational Platform include Flow Words, NL Words, CMS Words, Generator Words, Boost Words, Voice Words, Omnichat Words, Assist Words, Whatsapp Dashboard Words, and Catalogs. Irzan said that Kata.ai wanted to provide integrated services related to communication between a company and its consumers.
“We want to put technology as an enabler or supporter,” he explained. Currently, Kata.ai has hooked up to 120 partner companies that use its services. The platform has also been used by 6 thousand developers to process more than 500 million messages since last year.
The Kata.ai business also grew 500% compared to last year. This startup is also reported in looking for funding at this time. However, Irzan did not explain in detail related to this issue, especially in terms of the funding value or the investors.
He only explained that his company was not too ambitious in seeking funding. “Because our business model is Business to Business (BTOB), it is not too sluggish to get funding. But, we cannot deny that we are currently fundraising,” he said.
On the other hand, Product and Engineering of Kata.ai, Pria Purnama, is optimistic that these new solutions can improve the performance of a company’s customer service. “It won’t shift call center. With this solution, one person who could only serve 10 customers previously can now increase to 100,” he said.
Kata.ai Has around 6,000 Chatbot Developers within 3 Years
Only within 3 years after its foundation, Kata.ai has around 6,000 chatbot developers throughout Indonesia. They have been entrusted with developing chatbots for various well-known companies, ranging from Telkomsel (Veronika), Indosat (INDIRA), Unilever (Jemma), Alfamart (Jemma), Alfamart (Shalma), to Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Sabrina).
“Indonesia is a market that has the potential to enjoy the benefits of chatbots, especially seeing the high level of mobile penetration and messaging. We believe that the presence of AI solutions can make people can do more meaningful work and ultimately improve the overall quality of life,” Irzan explained.
To accelerate the development and innovation of AI solutions in Indonesia, Kata.ai previously has also initiated to organize an online national hackathon called KataHack. Here, each participant was invited to compete in teams to solve business and technology problems with artificial intelligence-based solutions made with technology platforms provided by Kata.ai.
“Besides this competition, the Kata.ai platform can also be used by anyone including tech enthusiasts or students that want to experiment and create their chatbots,” he added. Kata.ai itself is a startup that provides artificial intelligence solutions by utilizing the technology and Natural Language Processing in Indonesian chatbots.
