5 Millennial Who Is a Key Startup Indonesia Player
Industrial Revolution 4.0 in Indonesia has encouraged huge changes in various fields through technological advancement. Many young people, especially generation Z, are trying to build their own startup Indonesia. This creates a flourishing development of new startups in the country. Some of the previous generations are even successfully established a startup and obtain the title of Unicorn startup.

Achmad Zaky
Achmad Zaky is the founder and CEO of Bukalapak, an e-commerce startup that has achieved the unicorn status. Bukalapak is a C2C marketplace that focuses on facilitating the small-to-medium business to be able to market their product easily and for customers to shop easily from the comfort of their own house.
Achmad Zaki is a graduate of Institut Teknologi Bandung, majoring in Information Technology. He also continued his study with a scholarship to Oregon State University in 2008 and represent the ITB in the Harvard National Model United Status in 2009. With Bukalapak, Achmad Zaki’s wealth has reached around 100 million United States dollars or around 1.5 trillion rupiahs. Amanda Susanti
Amanda Susanti is the co-founder and CEO of Sayurbox. It is a unique startup that enables farmers to market their products directly to buyers and therefore they can receive a fairer price. Meanwhile, the buyers can also receive products with the best quality and of course, fresher.
So far, Sayurbox has partnered with 300 farms, serves more than 50,000 customers, and generates 1,000 deliveries per day. With Sayurbox, Amanda won a startup competition called Seedstarts Jakarta and has received more than US$2 in the form of funding. Additionally, she also gets into the Forbes list of 30 Under 30 Asia 2019 in the category of Industry, Manufacture, and Energy.
Eugene Patricia Agus
Eugene was only 19 years old when she and his brother, Adrian Christoper Agus who was 21 old established the Puyo Silky Dessert in July 2013. The secret recipe they received from their father make them successfully open their first outlet in September 2013. They only start their business with only 5 million rupiahs as the capital and haven’t received any other funding. However, they successfully receive a turnover of almost hundreds of million rupiahs from all outlets and resellers.
After 5 years, Puyo now has more than 60 outlets spread in big cities in Indonesia and has more than 270 employees. Today, Eugene able to receive turnover up to 1 billion rupiahs per month from their Puyo selling.
Ferry Unardi
Ferry Unardi is the Co-Founder and CEO Traveloka, one of the 5 Unicorn startup Indonesia. He quit his college education but that did not stop him from trying to succeed. He established Traveloka when he was 23 years old where he develops the system, the e-commerce analysis, enterprise system, coding, and many more. However, at first, there are no airlines that want to partner with it. However, since its traffic keeps growing rapidly, a lot of airlines started to partner with Traveloka where it will receive 5% of share profit from each sale.
The success has brought Traveloke to Unicorn title with a valuation of more than 1 billion United States dollars. His success brings his name into the list of the richest person in Indonesia according to Globe Asia. His wealth reaches 145 million United States dollars or about 2.09 trillion rupiahs in 2018.
Muhammad Alfatih Timur
Muhammad Alfatih established his crowdfunding website called Kitabisa.com on July 6th, 2013. This website able to facilitate more than 31,846 social funding with 2,801,425 people joined, and more than 815 billion rupiahs of donation have successfully obtained. The social crowdfunding is usually used to target donations for a medical bill, scholarship, and many more.
Social projects are commonly initiated by individuals, communities, or institutions. With this startup he built, Muhammad Alfatih Timur manages to get into the Forbes list of 30 Under 30 Asia 2016 in the category of social-entrepreneur.
