Number of Layoffs Increasing, Six Startups Provide Job Search Services

The government estimates that three million workers have been severed with a corona pandemic. In the midst of this difficulty, six startups provide a job search platform. The first startup is Job2Go.

The company, which is engaged in human resources technology (HR-tech), provides job search services in six categories, namely culinary, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), retail, finance, logistics, and digital industries.

The startup has been attracting 30 thousand users until early July. Since the beginning of this year, more than 18 thousand of the users were obtained in the middle of the pandemic. Job2Go also launched a training service called Job2Go Academy. The company targets blue-gray collar workers, and those who have just graduated from college (fresh graduates) through this field.

“We also want to facilitate the availability of 100 thousand new jobs for users,” Job2Go Founder and CEO Kurniawan Santoso said some time ago (1/7).

The startup also plans to hold a grand event ‘Virtual Job Fair’ in August, which focuses on attracting college graduates. This startup recently received funding from Singapore angel investor network called BANSEA. The funding was aimed to improve their services.

Sampingan also Provides Similar Features

Sampingan is also a startup that provides job vacancies. The work provided varies from sales agents, surveyors, couriers, and warehouse staff. Users can choose the work they want to go according to their respective expertise. Sampingan noted the number of partners jumped 50 thousand during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The increase occurred amid the rampant layoffs because many companies were affected by the coronavirus pandemic. CEO and Co-founder of Sampingan said that people joined their platform because of their need to get income, both primary and additional due to the laoffs.  

The company also recorded a fivefold increase in employee demand from business partners during the same period. Primarily, they offer vacancies for the type of such as administrative officers, warehouse staff, and work in logistics couriers.

Wisnu considered that the increase in worker demand was in line with the enactment of physical distancing and the call to stay at home. In is resulting in the high demand of shipping services because the high demand in the community.

The most sought-after workers can be done from home, namely administrative officers, customer service, and telesales. Wisnu claimed that his platform also provides solution for the companies, not only the community.

Users can also join to become a reseller on the platform by registering through the app. By doing this, users will immediately get access to dozens of items that they can sell. Users will be charged starting from IDR 50 thousand to be able to get products with special reseller prices.

The company guarantees the authenticity of all products sold. Then, there is a money-back guarantee if the reseller does not accept the product purchased. At present, there are more than 8,000 resellers joining the Sampingan platform.

Kalibrr and Glints are also Startups that Provide Job Vacancy Information

Third, Kalibrr, a startup from the Philippines that provides branding features for applicants to the talent development test. This value is considered to be able to attract additional attention for companies that post job information.

Kalibrr is also often referred to as third-party recruitment by Gojek, Shopee to Tokopedia. At least, more than 500 companies joined to post job information and there are more than 4,000 vacancies available.

Fourth, Glints or a job search portal from Singapore. In addition to job vacancies, this platform provides information related to internships. The startup also features consulting service providers and career development recommendations through live chat and special skills training through expert classes.

The work provided is divided into four categories namely remote, freelance, part-time, and full-time.
