For startup activists, Dallas Startup Week has certainly become one of the most anticipated annual event agendas. This event presents thousands of startups and investors to share with each other. The DSW19 featured speakers that included former Neiman Marcus CEO Karen Katz, tech billionaire and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and renowned tech journalist Kara Swisher.

In the United States, the CDC has issued rules for society to limit the number of people present at one event, to a maximum of 50 people. That certainly has an impact on this annual startup event. Therefore, DSW’s organizer decided to postpone the event to the third quarter of the year.

1. Previously Held in Downtown Dallas

This annual event has been scheduled for April 26 to May 1, 2020. However, the schedule had to be revised due to a pandemic. Every year, this event is held in various places in downtown Dallas.

2. The organizer changes the schedule due to corona

Officially, the organizer of DSW has announced that the event will be rescheduled from 30 August to 4 September. This notification is sent directly by the organizer via email to the participants. They also explained that this step was taken because the safety of the participants was the first priority.

3. 2020 is the 6th year

DSW20 is the 6th event since the event was first held. Previous DSW series has helped many startups to develop. There have been many investments given to startup who joined DSW. That’s why DSW is one of the most awaited events by startup founders in the United States.

4. Free to register

If you think that attending a startup event should cost a lot of money, then you are wrong. DSW20 does not charge a penny from the participants. Through the Eventbrite site, you can register for free to take part in this prestigious annual event.

A startup founder will not miss this event. Because if lucky, then their startup could have met with investors who are willing to inject fresh funds.

5. Lasts for 6 days

As in previous years, this event will last for 6 days with a variety of events that say not to be missed. A startup founder can learn a lot from this event, and what’s even more fun is being able to expand his network.

If previously DSW was held in many locations, this year the organizers planned to concentrate the event at one location. It was intended that the participants could attend more events that were held.

Bill Chinn, CEO of The DEC, thinks that it’s one of the most important changes for 2020. He considers that by focusing on Gilley’s Dallas, participants will stay longer and be able to attend more events than in previous years.

The DEC is the initiator of the DSW event. The Dallas Entrepreneur Center is a non-profit organization. They focus on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship especially in Dallas. The DEC specifically operates in Dallas, the United States of America to drive economic development in the region.

The name Capital One must be familiar to many people. It is a very famous bank in the United States. This bank offers a variety of financial products to consumers.
