Apart from the diversity of locations, said Anand, the companies included in this list are creating health service innovations in various related sectors.

“The winner of Digital Health 150 last year received recognition and managed to get total funding of nearly USD 5 billion. We certainly can’t wait to see what the winners will achieve this year,” said Anand.

Responding to this list, Jonathan Sudharta, CEO and Co-founder of Halodoc admitted that he is honored to be able to return to the list of Digital Health 150 from CB Insights.

“This recognition is certainly a motivation for us as a startup company created by the nation’s children to continue to innovate in providing the convenience of equitable health access for all Indonesians,” said Jonathan.

Halodoc is the only company from Southeast Asia on this list for the Virtual Care Delivery category after achieving a similar achievement in 2019. As a technology company with a mission to simplify access to health services for the Indonesian people, Halodoc continues to strive to provide solutions that suit people’s needs.

Health Services will Continue to be in Demand Even When the Pandemic is Over

Health application services (health-tech) and telemedicine are predicted to be increasingly in demand by users even though the coronavirus will subside. This is due to changes in user habits due to the impact of the pandemic. The Association for Venture Capital for Indonesian Startups (Amvesindo) also noted that visits to health applications in Indonesia have jumped 15 times.

“We will not return to the past,” said Chairman of the Amvesindo Healtech Compartment and Chairman of the Indonesian Healthtech Association (AHI) Gregorius Bimantoro, Tuesday (25/8).

According to Bima, telemedicine is increasingly in demand because it is able to facilitate medical personnel and users who need health services during the pandemic. As a result, their users have finally gotten used to using this service daily.

Users can take advantage of online consultation services with doctors, redeem prescription drugs, and make appointments with doctors or hospitals through just one application. Users can also access various articles related to diseases and how to avoid them.

A significant increase occurred in the telemedicine application, namely Halodoc. They recorded a 10-fold increase in monthly active users since the pandemic broke out when compared to Q4 2019.

In addition, the average transaction rate in March has also doubled when compared to January to February 2020. They stated that the pandemic has changed many consumer habits in accessing health services.

“We believe that this service will continue to gain positive momentum, even after the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Halodoc Chief Marketing Officer, Dionisius Nathaniel.
