A property tech start-up, PT Bobobox Mitra Indonesia, on Monday (15/2) officially opened its newest business line, Bobocabin, to the public. Bobocabin is the newest accommodation product from Bobobox with the concept of elevated camping combining the use of the internet of things (IoT) technology and the beauty of the natural surroundings.
This is the third product that has been launched by Bobobox since its inception in 2017. The first product and at the same time Bobobox’s flagship product is a capsule hotel. Then the co-living (Boboliving) accommodation product in December last year.
Boboliving is available in Pancoran, South Jakarta. The Boboliving concept is like a boarding house with larger room facilities as well as a special area for work. There are 10 pods or capsule units prepared.
“We also want to remain a reliable rest solution for the community by offering a new way to enjoy leisure time. That is to unite ourselves with nature, but still in a safe way with the support of reliable designs and technology,” said Bobobox CEO and Co-Founder Indra Gunawan, Monday (15/2).
Poviding New Experiences in Camping
Bobocabin is the latest accommodation product from Bobobox with an elevated camping concept that brings a new camping experience by combining the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology and the beauty of the natural surroundings.
For the initial stage, Bobobox CEO and Co-Founder Indra Gunawan explained that Bobocabin would be available in two areas in Bandung, namely Rancaupas and Cikole by utilizing Perhutani’s land.
“Later, Bobocabin will utilize 1.26 Ha of land each in Wana Wisata Ranca Upas, South Bandung, and 1 Ha in Green Grass Cikole, North Bandung, which has been managed by Perhutani,” he explained on Monday (15/2/2021).
In terms of design, he continued, Bobocabin was designed by adopting a futuristic modular design with a capacity of two adults and one child while still paying attention to the need for physical distancing.
That way, visitors can still get a feel of rest and adventure personally even though they are in an open natural environment. Still considering the security needs during the pandemic, each cabin, said Indra, was also built with due regard to sufficient distances between buildings.
Apart from supporting the privacy and comfort of visitors, this is also to ensure that health protocols can be implemented properly.
Contactless Experience with IoT Support
In addition, so far Bobobox has implemented contactless experience with the support of IoT technology for the operation of capsule hotel products, and this will also be applied to cabin operations, one of which is by utilizing the QR code feature to open doors.
Public areas such as lobbies and toilets are cleaned every hour, with 3M enforcement being disciplined. The provision of hand sanitizers in places such as lobbies, toilets and cabins also does not forget to apply.
Each cabin will be equipped with modern facilities with the support of IoT technology to control the features in it, such as smart glass windows, lights, doors and Bluetooth Audio Speakers that can be controlled directly from the visitor’s cellphone.
Bobocabin is also equipped with 24-hour reception, barbecue and campfire. Apart from that, visitors can also explore other attractions in the surrounding area. Bobocabin is offered with a price range of IDR 450 thousand – 550 thousand per day.
The existence of Bobocabin, continued Indra, is expected to be able to participate in creating new economic opportunities for the surrounding community and also participate in advancing the tourism industry by prioritizing sustainability both from a social, economic and environmental perspective.
“Through our latest innovation in the form of Bobocabin, we want to participate in collaborating in all cross-sectoral efforts to restore the economy, especially the tourism sector which has been badly affected by the pandemic,” he concluded.
