GoPay and financial or fintech tech startup Pluang agreed to work together to launch the GoInvest service. Through these features, Gojek users can buy gold at least 0.01 grams or the equivalent of IDR 8,000.
Usually, people start investing in gold by buying jewelry or gold bars with a minimum purchase of 1 gram or around IDR 800 thousand. However, in the current digital era, gold investment can be done in digital form, one of which is through the GoInvest platform developed by GoPay and Pluang.
GoPay Managing Director Budi Gandasoebrata said the investment is one of the upward trends at the moment. Therefore, the company makes investment features to meet those needs.
“We see public awareness and interest to start investing for the future, and gold with a minimal and profitable risk profile is still a favorite choice for community investment,” said Claudia Kolonas, Pluang Co-founder in her written statement, Tuesday (9/6/2020).
With the GoInvest service, Budi continued, gold investment can be done in three steps, namely entering the number of gold purchases, confirming transactions, and paying for transactions with GoPay. He claims users can get competitive gold prices, can save gold starting from 0.01 grams or equivalent to IDR 8 thousand, and without additional costs.
“Whenever it is needed, users can cash gold investments in the form of cash directly into their GoPay account. Digital gold can also be exchanged to be ANTAM certified 99.99% gold metal,” Budi was quoted as saying in a press release on Tuesday (9 / 6).
Transactions are Supervised Directly by BAPPEBTI
From a security perspective, Budi said, GoPay and Pluang ensured that GoInvest users can transact safely because all transactions are overseen by the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (BAPPEBTI) and their gold products are guaranteed by PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (KBI).
Budi Gandasoebrata, Managing Director, GoPay, explained that by prioritizing features, services, and security, GoPay continues to be a reliable digital payment for the people of Indonesia in facing this challenging time.
“Based on Gopay’s data, investment is one of the upward trends in usage today. Therefore, we believe that transparent investment features can be carried out anytime, anywhere that will meet user needs,” he explained
“This means that all transactions that occur not only are recorded in the application but also government agencies, namely BAPPEBTI and the physical gold saved is guaranteed by KBI,” Budi said.
Gold Investment through Gojek is Quite Easy to Do
Pluang co-founder Claudia Kolonas said the company saw opportunities from the awareness and interest of the community to start investing. On the other hand, gold is an investment product with a minimal and profitable risk profile.
So that gold continues to be the people’s favorite investment product. Through GoInvest, he continued, the company provides easy, reliable, and profitable financial solutions for all Indonesian people.
“We want to provide easy, reliable and profitable financial solutions for all Indonesian people, whatever their background. The partnership with GoPay opens the opportunity for everyone to now be able to invest and save for a better future,” said Claudia Kolonas, co-founder of Pluang, in a release received by Bisnis, Tuesday (06/09/2020).
To register with GoInvest, users only need to use a Gojek account. After the registration process is complete, users can immediately transact buying their first digital gold starting from 0.01 grams in the Gojek application with GoPay.
In September last year, Bukalapak also hooked Pluang in the Gold Installment feature as part of the development of the Open Gold feature on its platform.
Through this service, users can start paying in gold with a minimum amount of 1 gram with a tenor of three to 24 months. The installment amount will be adjusted to the tenor and the amount of gold to be invested.
