The collaboration program between Gojek and the Bandung City Government (Pemkot), Sahabat Sekolah 3.0 is officially closed. This part of GoGreener’s program has collected 2.7 tonnes of plastic waste for recycling.
Since running from 1 February to 31 March 2021, the Sahabat Sekolah 3.0 program has provided education about the culture of healthy living and built a sense of concern for the environment.
It is known that it has been delivered to more than 150,000 students in 145 Junior, Senior and Vocational Schools in the Greater Bandung area. It is planned that the 2.7 tons of plastic waste that have been collected will be recycled by the Bandung City Sanitation Company.
The plan will be converted into bags and other usable items. District Head of Gojek Bandung Raya, Cut Emyra Fadhila, assessed that this program was an example of good cooperation in an effort to raise awareness in school students.
“It is hoped that those who have received education through this program can become ambassadors to spread messages to the wider community in creating a Healthy and Clean Bandung from garbage,” he said in a press statement, Saturday (10/4/2021).
Gojek’s Campaign Is In Line With The Kang Pisman Program
Meanwhile, the Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, also appreciated the collaborative steps that have been taken.
“The Bandung City Government cannot work alone, and indeed the responsibility of creating a clean Bandung is the responsibility of all parties,” he said. He hopes that in the future, environmental awareness culture dissemination will continue to be carried out through a similar program.
Cut Emyra said, Gojek also continues to invite students and schoolgirls in Bandung, so they can stay healthy and continue to implement health protocols during the pandemic.
“With the participation of students and schoolgirls in the city of Bandung, it is hoped that those who have received education through this program can become ambassadors to spread messages to the community in creating a healthy and clean Bandung from waste,” he said.
Deputy Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana said that the Gojek campaign was in line with the Kang Pisman program, which one of the strategies was to produce Kang Pisman ambassadors and environmental ambassadors at the school level, especially junior and senior high schools.
It Has Been Held since 2019
The School Friends Program has been held since 2019 and has involved thousands of school students in Bandung Raya. In the first program in 2019, Gojek and students have collected 462 kg of plastic waste which is then recycled by third parties to be used as useful items such as bags, and so on.
Then in 2020, the School Friends Program will be carried out online in connection with the pandemic, through the adaptation module for new habits and the Gojek Health, Health and Safety (J3K) Health protocol. Sahabat Sekolah 3.0 also continues to provide J3K supplies to face the new life order during the pandemic.
The School Friends training materials will be carried out entirely online during the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS). The School Friends Program is one of a series of initiatives under GoGreener in addressing the issue of plastic waste.
Through programs such as paid cutleries in the Gojek application, Gojek has succeeded in avoiding the creation of 13 tons of plastic waste since GoGreener was launched in August 2019. Together with the Sahabat Sekolah series of programs, Gojek has collected and processed plastic waste that has reached more than 6.3 tons.
Exciting Art Performance & Exhibition with Selebrities
As one of the prizes for the achievements of school students, Gojek held a Pensi Seru Mereng Bintang (PSBB). This time, SMA BPI 1 Bandung can witness the performances of Rizky Febian, Juicy Lucy, Aska Rocket Rockers, Ocan Siagian, and Happy Holiday.
This selection is based on the school that has the largest accumulated number of points by collecting garbage. Sahabat Sekolah 3.0 also continues to provide J3K supplies to face the new life order during the pandemic.
