For almost 9 months, students throughout Indonesia have been studying from home. Through a virtual meeting held by the Ministry of Education and Culture regarding the announcement of the Decree of the Four Ministers held virtually on Friday (20/11), the Government has issued a face-to-face learning permit which can be done simultaneously in one regency/city or in stages per sub-district and/or village/sub-district.
Face-to-face schools are still implemented in stages, starting from determining the granting of permits by the local government/regional offices/Ministry of Religion offices, fulfilling the checklist by education units, and readiness to carry out face-to-face learning.
There are several considerations and steps that must be implemented by each local government regarding the implementation of face-to-face schools, including the readiness of health service facilities, the readiness of education units in implementing face-to-face learning according to the checklist.
During the implementation of Distance Learning (PJJ), it is not uncommon for teachers to also make innovations and creative ways to provide PJJ practices for the past 9 months and up to now. One of the teachers from SMAN 53 Jakarta, Refina Hadinurjana, made a lesson for students to make a poem related to COVID-19 to be uploaded to an online music platform.
In commemoration of National Teacher’s Day on November 25 and also as a form of support to the government, Quipper as an ed tech company with a mission to provide access to quality education throughout Indonesia in collaboration with Fruit Tea Sosro held an activity called Inspirational Teacher Appreciation for Indonesia 2020 / 2021 (AGII).
This activity aims to give appreciation for teachers who have innovated in student teaching, especially during the pandemic, as well as to seek inspirational teacher figures from all over Indonesia.
