Yummykitchen Startup Will Expand to 50 Kitchens during PPKM

A cloud kitchen-based catering and restaurant solution provider startup, Yummykitchen, will expand to 50 kitchens in the remainder of 2021. This step is taken to ensure that the trend of transaction growth throughout 2021 remains positive.

During the first half of this year, the company recorded an increase of 85 percent in transactions. This is supported by the government’s policy with the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) which encourages ordering food online.

Yummy Corp CEO Mario Suntanu said the emergency PPKM encouraged the company to accelerate its expansion strategy. This is taking into account the number of restaurants and food businesses that need solutions from cloud kitchens.

“The expansion of 50 kitchens by the end of the year includes adding our outlets in Bandung, Medan, and Surabaya,” Mario said in his official statement, Friday (23/7).

In addition, expansion is also carried out to pursue income from consumers amid the closure of shopping centers such as malls and restrictions on business hours, as well as a ban on eating out.

Considered the Most Possible Solution in the Midst of a Pandemic

Cloud kitchen is considered as the most possible solution to increase the number of daily transactions and increase the demand for orders from business actors.

It is hoped that the Yummykitchen expansion will be able to help food and beverage business players continue to grow amidst the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We also hope that we can cooperate with various business actors in various regions with easy and affordable capital,” he said. Yummykitchen is currently collaborating with more than 50 food and beverage brands.

Previously, Secretary-General of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Maulana Yusran said hotel and restaurant entrepreneurs were resigned to the PPKM policy. The impact of this regulation is certainly a loss for business actors, because the level of restaurant visits will decrease.
